An alternative method of connecting coupling hubs to machinery shaft ends — allowing higher interference fit and greater torque transmission than traditional methods.

The Hydraulic Clamp Hub is an alternative method of connecting coupling hubs to machinery shaft ends. This technology allows for a higher interference fit than traditional keyed or press-fit methods, thereby enabling a significant increase in torque transmission capability.
The hydraulic clamp hub uses hydraulic pressure to expand a clamping disc that grips the shaft — eliminating the need for heating, pressing, or keyways. Installation and removal are straightforward field operations that can be performed without specialized removal equipment or heating torches.
This technology is compliant with API 671 5th Edition hub installation requirements and eliminates fretting corrosion at the hub-shaft interface — a common cause of premature coupling failure in press-fit designs.
