Torsional Damper

Protects equipment shafts from damage due to unexpected dynamic torque interaction of low-level torque signals with shaft natural frequencies.

Torsional Damper

Product Overview

The Riverhawk Torsional Damper protects turbomachinery shafts from damage caused by dynamic torque signals interacting with shaft torsional natural frequencies. Torsional resonance — even at low torque amplitudes — can cause fatigue damage that is invisible to operators until catastrophic failure occurs.

The torsional damper is integrated into the coupling or shaft end and provides viscous or friction damping to suppress torsional vibration amplitudes across a range of frequencies. This protects shafts from the cumulative fatigue damage that results from long-term resonant torque exposure.
